Biggest Loser 9: Episode 908 Recap

(Original Air Date 3/9/2010)

The show opens with O’Neil very nervous as the blue team returns from elimination. He is completely stressed out that daughter Sunshine will be voted off and is VERY relieved to see her return.

Blue team rallies together to discuss how they will work very hard this week to beat the black team.

Announcement: It’s Work Week

The contestants meet with Alison and she lets them know that this week they will be working! They will be working 8 hrs a day every day, commuting on the bus and with limited time to workout – just as they will be in real life. They are going to be working with volunteers at Feeding America.

Team Challenge:

The two teams will be pulling a 33,000 lb semi down a runway, picking up puzzle pieces along the way. When they get to the end of the runway, they will put together the puzzle to spell the reward which is free groceries for a year! Yay!

Blue starts out with a big lead but at some point black catches them and they are neck and neck at the end.  Blue team does end up winning the challenge.

The contestants meet with Bob and Jillian to let them know that they will only have limited time to workout this week. In fact, the gym will only be open for certain hours during the day.

They begin there workout and everyone knows that they will have to pack some intense time into their short workouts to make them as effective as possible.

They enjoy their work a lot and do manage to get in short workouts throughout the week.

We hear an emotional story shared from Steve, a Food Bank Inventory Clerk. He is obese and lost his father to obesity at a very early age. The Biggest Loser contestants inspire him and let him know that he can get the weight off and be healthy.

During the course of the week, Cheryl and Sherry grow quite close and talk about their journey and how they can relate to each others as mothers who always seem to put others first.

The work week ends and the contestants pack their last chance workout into a shorter time slot as all workouts for the week have been.

Trainer Tip:

Jillian says that strength training combined with cardio is a more effective workout because muscle burns more body fat.

O’Neil and Sunshine share some intense moments on tonight’s show and talk about how close they’ve gotten.

Biggest Loser 9: Episode 907 Recap

(Original Air Date 3/2/2010)

The show opens where we left off before the Olympics break these past weeks.  The contestants are at the US Olympics Training Center in Colorado watching to see who’s flame is going out first…Darell or Cheryl?

The winner…Cheryl! Darell is leaving us. 🙁 See in transformation notes at end of post.

Temptation Challenge:

Alison announces that they are now going Blue vs Black…Bob vs Jillian! We knew it was coming! 😉 AND the challenge winner will determine the teams.

The temptation challenge is a risky calorie game and a game that potentially holds a lot of power for the winner. Only Mike and Andrea decide to take part in the challenge. They must match card with different foods behind them and ultimately match the two winning ticket to win the game and have control. A match of two same foods means that the other contestants eats that food. No match and that person needs to eat a 100 calorie cookie.

Micheal ends up winning and Andrea has consumed 1320 calories by the end of the game.

Micheal gets to choose the two teams as well as one person to be immune this week. He could also choose himself to be immune but that person will not be placed on a team until the end of the week when one team loses the weigh-in.

I will color code the teams below for the posted weight-in. Michael chooses O’Neil to be immune.

And he basically breaks up most of the teams, putting himself on the blue team which appears to be the strongest team by far!

Bob and Jillian get the news about the teams and Jillian is once again ticked off because the odds are SO stacked against her once again. BUT would she really have it any other way? She seems to do quite well as the underdog. 😉

Trainer Tip:

Bob teaches us a way that we can burn more calories on the treadmill. Bump up the incline and do not use your hands to burn more calories.

The contestants work out for the first time as blue and black teams. Bob vows to work Michael’s temptation cookie calories off!

Team Challenge:

The teams meet Alison outside of two very high buildings. Each team needs to pull their team banner to the top of the building and they are doing so from the top of the buildings. The team to pull their banner to the top first will win letters from home. Yay! Everyone really wants this prize!

The black team does hang in there but the blue team pulls out the win and receives the letters from home.

A few of the contestants meet with Dr. H. to discuss very big improvements to their overall health. This is encouraging.

Last Chance Workout:

Booty whippin per usual! Jillian means business with her Black team and they are up for the challenge working hard as a team!

Darell’s Transformation since leaving the ranch:
Darell has lost a total of 120 lbs. Wow! He has a completely new lease on life and loves working out with his wife.

Biggest Loser 9: Episode 906 Recap

(Original Air Date 2/9/2010)

The show begins with an announcement from Alison that they will be traveling to the US Olympics Training Center in Colorado for the week. Exciting! They will be training with athletes.

They also get the news that beginning this week, they will no longer be competing as teams but as individuals. At the weigh-in one person will fall below the red line and immediately leave the ranch. Also two people will fall below the yellow line and one of them will also be eliminated.

The yellow team remembers their elimination and vow that it will not be them to go.

The contestants are very excited to be at the training center. They receive very cool autographed Olympic flags and get to workout and hear from great athletes like ski greats, Julia Mancuso and Jeret “Speedy” Peterson.

They meet with the nutritionists to learn about how the athletes  eat and use food for the fuel that their body needs to compete at these levels of intensity.

Koli is really struggling with his feelings about John leaving the week before. For some reason he is feeling that John was more deserving to be there than himself. Both Sam and Bob talk to him about this, convincing him that he does deserve to be there.

Trainer Tip:

Jared “Speedy” Peterson encourages viewer to do lunges as we go into commercial break. How fun!

Pop Challenge:

JR Celski, Olympic hopeful speed skater introduces the pop challenge for the week.

The contestants each have a slide board and they get one point each time they touch a side. They must go to 500 points. The first, second and third players to finish will receive special advantages later in the week.

Sam finishes 1st for the gold, Melissa takes 2nd place for the silver and Sunshine gets the bronze for third place.

Immunity Challenge:

The teams meat at the beautiful Garden of the Gods for the Olympic Immunity Challenge. They are going to compete in an biathlon which means they will be running around a field and each time they complete one round they get an opportunity to aim at a target with a laser gun. The first person to get 5 hits on their target will be eliminated. The person left at the end will win immunity at the weekly weigh-in.

Now the previous pop challenge advantages come into play as they get to automatically choose 1,2 and 3 targets to hit. It turns out to be pretty much a wash because the 2 ladies both choose Sam’s target and he gives it right back to them duh!

The challenge comes down to the 2 fathers of the bunch, O’Neil and Darrel and O’Neil wins the immunity! WooHoo!

Last Chance Workout:

The teams head back to LA but instead of going to the Ranch for the last chance workout they go to 24 Hour Fitness to work out with U.S. Pairs Figure Skating Champion Rockne “Rock” Brubaker. They do a killer bootcamp class and then hit the treadmills.

Bob gets O’Neil balancing on one of the balance balls and its great to see how proud he is of himself.

Below the yellow line:
Cheryl and Darell…

BUT WAIT – TWIST!
There is no elimination vote this week. Instead Cheryl and Darell will take part in a competition to see which one of them will be going home.

The show ends with the two competing to see who can balance a lit torch on their heads the longest…and we are left with a BIG FAT cliffhanger! Argh! Stay tuned for 2 weeks after the Olympics!

Next Time on the Show…in two weeks due to the Olympics coverage:

We will find out who wins the elimination challenge and it looks like we’re back to teams – Blue vs Black! WooHoo! It’s on Jillian vs Bob!

Biggest Loser 9: Episode 905 Recap

(Original Air Date 2/2/2010)

The show opens to Miggy having a difficult time after Migdalia was voted off. Then we hear an ambulance coming to pick someone up at the ranch…find out the next morning that it was Miggy with stomach pains…to be continued.

Surprise – Look Who’s Back!

The contestants meet up with Alison outside and the limos pull up for their big surprise. Yellow and Blue teams are back and the contestant find out that one team will be joining them at the ranch.

They head into the gym to weigh-in to find out that they are actually going to do a workout with Bob and Jillian – Welcome to the ranch!

They workout, then it’s time for the scale. The team with the highest percentage of weight loss will be back and the other team will go home. One other crazy thing – the team to come back holds the ONLY vote for this week’s elimination. (and they have immunity for 2 weeks)

Team Yellow = 11.45 %  O’Neil loses 51 lbs!, Sunshine 25 lbs
Team Blue = 9.92 % Cherita loses 24 lbs, Vicky 39 lbs

Team Yellow is back!

The others definitely feel the pressure of the Yellow Team having all of the power at the elimination.

Back in the gym, Bob has word with Melissa while she struggles a bit with the workout.

Jillian pushes Daris to talk about how come he has been so close to the yellow line.

Immunity Challenge:

The teams choose one person to represent each team and they have to hit a tackle dummy 1000 times. The team to come in first wins immunity and the loser will receive a 2 lb penalty at the weigh-in.

It comes down to Sam and Michael and Michael ends up taking it! Go Michael!
The pink team comes in last – bummer!

Miggy comes back from the hospital and the contestants learn that she had her appendics taken out. Ouch! She is determined and does the one thing she is allowed to do, which is walk…a lot!

Miggy meets with the doctor and he is concerned about how much walking she is doing. He informs here that they had to put salt water in her during the surgery – part of the process. Man, that will probably stink on the scale this week!

More working out in the gym…

Jillian confronts Ashley about how little she is working and it comes out that she saw her father die of cancer. Jillian takes her outside and they talk/cry it out.

Biggest Loser 9: Episode 904 Recap

(Original Air Date 1/26/2010)

The show opens with the contestants talking to Michael about how he is feeling after his mom was voted off the ranch last week.  They had been hard on him because they didn’t think he was putting as much into his time there as he needed to be.

Pop Quiz Challenge:

The teams meet with Alison for a pop quiz challenge and find out that the winner will receive immunity for the weigh-in.  They have to run around the Presidential Mile and collect random cards from a board. Then they return to check the card for a green check or red x. The first team to find 3 green check cards wins the challenge.

Stephanie is working so hard on her own, lapping other teams yet she cannot seem to get a break with the cards.

Red ends up winning – yikes! and Alison announces that they get to assign teams to the following listed below with the chosen team members.

  • No access to gym for the week – John
  • No elimination vote – Michael
  • 2 lb disadvantage at weigh-in – green: Miggy/Migdalia

Next we see the teams in the gym training and Bob talking heatedly to Melissa and Lance who are completely floored and upset that he and Jillian insist that Melissa has been throwing the weigh-ins.

From there Lance speaks with Jillian and it ends with Jillian sticking to her guns about Melissa lying and Lance refusing to work with her any longer. Argh! Please!

Melissa then ends up going with Jillian to box (of all things).  Once again there are a lot of tears and yelling on Melissa’s part and Jillian sticks to he guns!

A lot of red team drama this week…it continues. Melissa and Lance talk alone and she reminds him that they are there to do what it takes to lose the weight and change their lives. She asks him to continue working with Jillian and Lance agrees.

Reward Challenge:

The contestants meet with Alison to get started on the reward challenge.

Each team has to pull themselves up 120 feet in a crate to the top of a crane. The winning team will receive the coveted reward of phone calls from home. They also will get to choose 3 other teams to receive phone calls from their loved ones.

It comes down to grey vs red and grey pulls it out for the win! Koli and Sam choose the following teams to receive the calls: (awesome guys , that grey team!)

  • (Red) Lance and Melissa (due to the fact that they are parents)
  • (Green) Miggy and Migdalia
  • (Brown) John

Lovin that grey team!

Trainer Tip:

Jillian’s tip to curb afternoon sweet tooth cravings – Put an apple in a shallow bowl of water and cover. Microwave for 3 minutes or until done and sprinkle with cinnamon. The calories are only 60.

The teams make their phone calls and we see lots of tears and sweet moments.

Last Chance Workout:

Bob has the contestants run up and back down the hill for his last change workout. They think they are done when they get back, but Jillian greet them with some intense outdoor workouts! Go Jillian!

Weigh-In Results: (pounds lost this week, total lbs lost to date, current weight)

Team Green: (Mother/Daughter)

There is a blow up between the green and red teams at the weigh-in. The green team is very peeved about the 2 lb penalty that the red team had given them. (BUT the two lbs wouldn’t have mattered any way)

Lowest Team for the Week:
Miggy and Migdalia (Team Green)

Eliminated Contestant:
Migdalia (she had actually asked them to send her home saying that she was ready to go)

Migdalia’s transformation since leaving the ranch:

When Migdalia first got home from the ranch, she gained 10 lbs. There was a lot of pressure and sadness because here huspand was away in the military. She did get back in the game tho and has been hitting the gym determined to get the weight off.

Team Yellow and Blue (voted off week 1) are back to see which one of them has earned a place back in the game!

Biggest Loser 9: Episode 903 Recap

(Original Air Date 1/19/2010)

Tonight’s show opens with a visit to teams blue and yellow that were sent home (to come back after 30 days) during the premiere episode. Both teams are working hard and committed to being the team let back into the competition.

We see Cherita conquering here fear of the exercise bike (Remember what happened at the ranch?) as she goes to her first spin class at 24 Hour Fitness and loves it!

O’Neil of team yellow has a conversation with his wife with her expressing her fears about losing him because of his health. His mom had died pretty young of a stroke.

Alison Announces that it is Student/Teacher Week:

One person from each team will be the student and the other the teacher. The teacher only will work out with Bob and Jillian and then relay training tips to the students to prepare them for a weigh-in that would happen after a week of working out without the trainers.

There are two teams that are now without a partner and they (Stephanie and John) will form a team for this challenge.

Temptation:

Alison reveals big tubs of chocolate candies. They will go in rounds eating a piece of candy worth 5 calories each. Each person can choose to eat or drop out and the last one standing will win and be able to choose who will be the teacher for each team.

Only Sherry (Pink) and Michael (White) eat any candy at all and Sherry wins for the pink team with eating only 2 candies total! (10 calories)

Sherry and daugher Ashley meet to discuss how the teams will be formed and it breaks down like this.

I will bold the name of the students in the weigh-in list. For the most part, they tried to be fair because they did not want to make any enemies but some were upset…particularly Migdalia of the green team.

Bob and Jillian get the scoop and begin training the teachers only while also giving them the information to pass on to their student partners.

This progresses into a very big issue between Jillian and Migdalia.  She is so obviously peeved and refuses to acknowledge any emotions whatsoever. Of course Jillian is ready to have her way with her but really feels that pushing her would make her leave. She consults with Bob and they agree that she should continue being tough for a bit.

Migdalia does leave the gym with Jillian close behind her. She says she is leaving the show and Jillian proceeds to talk to Miggy who then has a conversation with her daughter. Migdalia is under the impression that Jillian was calling her a bad mother and that is the only thing that she seemed to have in her head.  Was a lot of drama!

Bob and Jillian tag team and he goes in to talk to her and convinces her that she owes it to herself to stick it out!

The trainers workout their team mates (students) throughout the week trying to remember everything that Bob and Jillian have been telling them.

Trainer Tip:

Bob says that working out in water is great for people with bad joints and other ailments.  He suggests alternating between jumping jacks and treading water for 30 seconds each. Start out with 10 minutes and increase the time for each workout.

The teachers then attend a cooking lesson with the great Curtis Stone at the California Health and Longevity Institute. He discusses portion sizes and shows them typical high fat dishes and gives them tips for making healthy options.

Miggy spends some time talking to her daughter Migdalia about the importance of letting go of some of her emotional issues and it does seem to help as we see some tears flow…finally!

Cooking Tip:

Curtis Stone that if you want to add some sweetness to a cooked dish without adding sugar, use the technique of carmelizing. This works great with onions and veggies as well as just about anything including meat. You need a non-stick pan, high heat and it is cooked until it’s golden brown. Yum!

Teacher/Student Challenge:

Alison meets up with the contestants with huge balls of ribbon at a playground.

The teacher will unwind 1000 ft of ribbon throughout the playground with the idea of making it challenging for the person who then has to collect the ribbon.

The students will then draw for which ribbon they will untangle and the first to do so will win the challenge and immunity from the weekly challenge.

Twist: After the teachers complete their task (and Michael of the White team does a wicked job of it) Alison announces that each student will actually be unraveling their own team mates ribbon. Shocker!

Red is looking strong once again and are pretty much tied with the grey team and the grey team pulls it off! Yay Koli and Sam!

They also do have the option to switch the teacher/student (and the person who weighs in) role of one team at the weigh-in.

Last Chance Workout:

Bob talks about how weird it is because they are working out half the team but also relaying important information for the partners.  The Teachers then give their students a last chance workout.

Weigh-In Results: (pounds lost this week, total lbs lost to date, current weight)
*I will bold the team member below who is the student (the only weight for each team that counts)

Team White: (Mother/Son) *this is the team that grey chose to switch
Michael10 lbs, 55 lbs total, 471 lbs
Maria – 4 lbs, 27 lbs total, 254 lbs

A BIG blow out during Melissa’s (team Red) weight in. Everyone believes that she is throwing the weigh-in but the hugest deal is that she is so offended when Bob and Jillian confront her on it and insists that she is very upset that she is not losing weight at the ranch. Please girl! Know one is buying it!

Lowest Team for the Week:
Michael & Maria (Team White)

Eliminated Contestant:
Maria

Maria’s transformation since leaving the ranch:

Maria is down to 230 lbs and has been conquering her fear of the water. She now has a swimming instructor and plans to swim in the ocean next year for the first time ever during a family vacation.

Next Week on the Show:

Looks good! Lance and Melissa confront Jillian about calling Melissa out as a liar. It appears that Jillian is sticking to her guns on this one! Can’t wait! 😉

Biggest Loser 9: Episode 902 Recap

(Original Air Date 1/12/2010)

Week 2 is infamous for being rough and this season was no different!

Bob and Jillian are obsessed with making it through week 2 and the contestants are hurting!

Jillian confronts John in the gym about losing his teammate James because he does not seem to be showing any emotion. Of course Jillian tries to “break” him very early on in the episode I might add. 😉

The contestants meet with Dr. Huizenga. Once again he stands before them and talks about the fact that this is the biggest and sickest groups that they have ever had on the show. Yes, it does seem to get worse every year.

Each team gets a medical task that they need to complete that allows them to see the reality of their situation.

Weekly Challenge:
Tonight Alison tells them that the contest will involve testing their balance. Each team must walk a balance beam across a pool carrying 10 beach balls across one at a time.  The winning team will be granted immunity at the weigh-in. The last team to complete the challenge will incur a 2 lb penalty at the weekly weigh-in. There is A LOT at stake here!

The Black Team (Andrea & Darell) and Red Team (Melissa & Lance) are tied at the end and the Red Team brings it in for the win!

There is a struggle at the end when Maria of the White Team has a hard time with this challenge and falls at the end. There is a lot of blood and she is taken away in an ambulance. She ends up with a black eye and they have incurred the 2 lb penalty.

Jillian then proceeds to confront Maria in the gym about all of the fear that she is hanging onto. There is a breakthrough moment when Jillian helps her to conquer her fear of water in the pool. Go Jillian!

Dr. Huizenga meets with the individual teams to talk to them about the realities of their health issues and what will potentially happen to them if they don’t do something about their weight.

Next the Last Chance Workout – one word to describe it: HARD! Per usual!

Biggest Loser 9 Premiere: Episode 901 Recap

(Original Air Date 1/05/2010)

The Biggest Loser Season 9 Premiere last night was great!

The contestants are actually the biggest that they have had on the show to date and I believe the lbs lost and determination will match their enthusiasm proving a good season all around!

Alison Sweeney continues to be the hostess for the show – I love her in this role!

This season began a little different than normal with each set of contestants (we are back to couples this season) receiving and exciting phone call from Bob or Jillian and the announcement that they have been selected as a Biggest Loser contestant.

The next announcement is that they will be doing their initial weigh-in in their hometown among friends, family and neighbors. Gulp! I know that this was not an easy thing for most of them.

Here is the breakdown of the teams and a bit about each of the contestants:

Team Yellow: (Father/Daughter)
Sunshine – age 24,  restaurant server, starting weight: 275 lbs.
O’Neil
– age 51, Station Manager US Postal Service, starting weight: 389 lbs.

Team Brown: (Brothers (Twins)
John – age 30, Sr. Marketing Manager,  starting weight: 484 lbs
James
– age 30, Human Resources Director, starting weight: 485 lbs.

Team Pink: (Mother/Daughter)
Ashley – age 27, Spa Manager and Esthetician; starting weight:  374 lbs
Sherry
– age 51, Admin Nonprofit; starting weight: 218 lbs.

Team Orange: (Mother/Son)
Daris– age 25, Deliveryman/Salesman; starting weight: 346 lbs
Cheryl
– age 50, Owner Sears hometown store; starting weight: 227 lbs.

Team Purple: (Mother/Daughter)
Stephanie – age 29, Radio Sales Executive; starting weight: 264 lbs.
Patti
– age 55, Business Owner; starting weight 243 lbs.

Team Black: (Father/Daughter)
Andrea – age 24, Executive Assistant; starting weight: 298 lbs.
Darell – age 46, Operator/Mechanic; starting weight: 413 lbs.

Team Blue: (Mother/Daughter)
Cherita – age 50, Homemaker; starting weight: 277 lbs.
Victoria – age 22, Student; starting weight: 358 lbs.

Team Green: (Mother/Daughter)
Miggy – age 48, Chef; starting weight: 240 lbs.
Migdalia– age 28, Homemaker; starting weight: 265 lbs.

Team Red: (Husband/Wife)
Lance – age 38, Rancher; starting weight: 365 lbs.
Melisa – age 39, attorney; starting weight: 233 lbs.

Team Grey: (Cousins)
Koli – age 29, Football Coach and Head of Security; starting weight: 403 lbs.
Sam – age 24, Youth Football Coach and Security Guard; starting weight: 372 lbs.

Team White: (Mother/Son)
Michael – age 30, Deejay; starting weight: 526 lbs.
Maria – age 51, Corporate Travel Agent; starting weight: 281 lbs.

The contestants arrive at the ranch and are greeted by Alison Sweeney who takes them to an empty gym.

The curtains raise and they are faced with their first challenge AND an elimination! Rows of stationary bikes and the instructions from Ali that they will have to complete 26.2 miles on the bikes as a team which is the amount run for the marathoners in Season 8.

The first team to complete the 26.2 miles will be immune from the first elimination.

The last 2 teams to complete the challenge will automatically be leaving the ranch immediately. Yikes! Big things at stake here!

The green team made up of Mother/Daughter duo Miggy and Migdalia REALLY took off and won first place. I was VERY impressed by their effort!

Unfortunately blue team member, Cherita, was forced by the doctor to get off the bike as she was really in pain. Her daughter Victoria had to continue on her own.

The blue team and yellow team (Sunshine and O’Neil) come in last and it is heartbreaking to see them go so soon.

BUT WAIT!

Their cars are stopped but none other than Bob and Jillian as they are leaving the ranch! Yay! Another chance.

They will return home for 30 days and receive training from Bob and Jillian. (not sure how that is going to work) They will return to the ranch at that point and the team to have the highest percentage loss will return to the game.

Again this season, trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, will be working together to train all of the contestants as opposed to splitting them up into teams that compete against each other.  I like it that they are doing this!

Once again Bob comments that this is the biggest group that they have ever had at the ranch.

Dr. Huizenga is back as the leading physician for the 9th season of Biggest Loser.

Trainer Tips: (for working out with a partner)

1. Rest your forearms on floor while in plank position. Partner helps to raise and lower your leg.

2. Do sit-ups with feet touching and pass a ball in between.

Bob and Jillian introduce the contestants to their first workout by pulling the fire alarm while they are sleeping. Needless to say that it is a rough wake-up call indeed!

“Day 1 workout is rock bottom.” ~ Bob Harper

The contestants spend some time getting to know one another and listening to each others stories of how they feel they got so heavy and what their hopes and dreams for the future are.

Everyone looks absolutely amazing!

Next Alison, Jillian and Bob surprise America’s beloved Shay with a great opportunity. Subway wants to invite Shay to the Biggest Loser Season 9 Finale. They are offering her #1000 for every lb that she loses between now and then. Her current weight is 304, so we could see a HUGE loss for Shay and a HUGE check for her at Season 9 Finale. Way to go Shay! All of America is behind you and we want to see you succeed!

Biggest Loser 8: Episode 812 Recap

(Original Air Date 12/1/2009)

This week’s show begins with a look at the remaining 4 contestants and how far they have come on their journey at the Ranch.

Alison announces that it is now time to leave the ranch for the next 60 days. They will be on their own, without trainers and the Biggest Loser Ranch. They will be surrounded by all of their old temptations and then have to return to face the scale one final time before the finale.

While at home the contestants each receive boxes from the Biggest Loser which contain videos of them at the beginning of their journeys. It’s really amazing how far each of them have come.

Bob and Jillian then call each of them to inform them that they will be taking part in a Biggest Loser rite of passage…running a marathon! Doh!

Celebrity Chef Curtis Stone arrives at Danny’s to show him and his family some healthy cooking tips. (This was a previous prize that Danny had won at the ranch)

Bob and Jillian then pay a surprise visit to each of the contestants at home to check in on how they are doing and talk to them about how they are dealing with old issues.

Race Day:

Alison announces that each contestant that crosses the finish line will receive a $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice.  And they’re off…

Tara joins Danny and Liz while they run. Rudy’s original Biggest Loser partner, Dina catches up with him to run. At the halfway mark, Amanda’s best friend Brian begins running with her and when she is in a lot of pain we see Tara catching up with her to show some support.

The contestants are all really hurting during the race but they all do manage to finish with Rudy coming in first place. Wow! Great job!

Alison then announces that they now have one final thing to do…face the scale for one last weigh-in.

The Final Weigh-In:

At the final weigh-in, the two contestants with the highest percentage weight loss would automatically advance to the final, while the two below the yellow line would plead their case before America in the hopes of being voted the 3rd finalist.

Weigh-In Results: (pounds lost during 60 days away from Ranch, total lbs lost to date, current weight)

Amanda: 16 lbs, 80 lbs total, 170 lbs
Danny: 59 lbs, 201 lbs total, 229 lbs
Liz:
16 lbs, 85 lbs total, 182 lbs
Rudy: 43 lbs, 189 lbs total, 253 lbs

*Danny is one of only 4 players to ever lose over 200 lbs while at the Biggest Loser Ranch.

Danny and Rudy are automatically advanced to the finale, while Liz and Amanda must now plead their case before America for a vote to keep them in the finale. America will now vote and we will not find out the results until the live finale next week.

Next Week on the Show:

The live finale! One person will become the Biggest Loser and win $250,000. Yay!
