Unity is a Powerful Thing

Ah…the things I’ve learned over the past 27 days while doing the 30 day Shred challenge with my teammates.

Number one take-away…Unity is a POWERFUL thing! Here’s is a picture of how I feel about my girls! πŸ˜‰

Men are certainly NOT excluded here – hey, we love men! It just so happened that everyone doing this challenge with me was female.

This IS a picture of support…of leaning on one another. This is a picture of strength. My team is a STRONG team…true warriors and people you want to have by your side.

“My girls” – Kim, Lori, Ali, Amy, Veronica, Andie, Mette, Cynthia and many more that were shredding with us have been such a huge source of support for me. When I didn’t feel like shredding (Yes, there WERE days), it was their comments and tweets that kept me motivated. We really didn’t want to let one another down – we didn’t want to let ourselves down.

Here is one definition that I found online for the word unity: The state or quality of being in accord; harmony.

I love this! These 30 day challenges are all about doing something in accord with one another. The challenge signifies that we, as a team, are in agreement that we want nothing less than the best for one another and for ourselves. We are each others cheerleaders and coaches. We became friends and I love that! My virtual BFFs for sure! I believe real change HAS occurred during the past 30 days. Momentum is a powerful thing!

Do you have someone cheering you on with your own weight loss and fitness journey? Is there a friend, sister or loved one that you feel that you can be accountable to when it comes to your goals and commitments to yourself?

I want to encourage you that you cannot have too much support when it comes to weight loss. Habits and old ways of doing things can be difficult to overcome on our own.

You’re just in time to be part of something really exciting we have going on here within the community. CelebrateWeightLoss.com is ALL about YOU and this next challenge is all about you as well.

P.S. Look for an announcement for the new forum community coming soon!

Paula’s Holiday Challenge Invitation! (Nov. 25-Dec. 24)

Join me (and a bunch of awesome friends) in our next 30 Day Challenge!

What: A 30 day commitment to be conscious and accountable throughout the holiday season – a commitment to NOT give in to the assumption that we will gain weight over the holidays.

When: Nov. 25-Dec. 24

What you need to participate:

  • the desire to create change in your life
  • the determination to stick with it for 30 days
  • the heart to encourage others involved in the challenge

Why I Think This Challenge Is For You:

  • This is a PERSONAL challenge – YOU decide each day what your goal is for that day only!
  • There is NO reason to fail – have a big meal coming up? No problem, your goal that day may include a lighter lunch or drinking 8 glasses of water.
  • DO NOT let the dates intimidate you – This challenge is about being conscious day-to-day. When Thanksgiving rolls around, your check-in that day might be that it is a free day for you and the commitment to check in the next morning with a plan for the day is a win! Get it – no failure here! πŸ˜‰
  • I don’t want you to wait until the New Year to start enjoying success! This is for you NOW!
  • It will be fun and you will make great friends! πŸ™‚

Yes, we are doing a challenge throughout the holiday season BUT I promise you that it is something we can all handle and this challenge does not involve exercise. (I do recommend continuing with your great exercise habits of course)

This challenge is all about:

  • NOT accepting defeat when it comes to holidays and weight gain.
  • ENJOYING those special meals and treats with family and friends

No Shred For You? What’s YOUR Challenge

Ok friends, family and excuse-makers!!!  I’m SO kidding – you all know I LOVE you and I can say that because I used to weigh 278 lbs and made EVERY excuse in the book to NOT start exercising!…Let alone commit PUBLICLY to 30 DAYS IN A ROW!!!!  LOL

In all seriousness…You people are awesome!!

I’m go glad to know you…to be knowing you…and to be sharing in this journey to health, fitness and the FREEDOM that brings with you all!

Now, let’s figure out a way to make this work for everyone, deal?!

The 30 Day Shred is on and we are going to rock that challenge! You can sign up by leaving your comment at that page please.

It has been brought to my attention (thanks Andie from Austria!) that the dvd is not available in all parts of the world YET. (Go Jillian!) I also know that there are a few of you that may be holding back from joining us because you know exactly who Jillian Michaels is! OK, no joke this workout will be challenging.

If you’re able to do it and you’ve been exercising at least a bit, I say definitely go for the shred.

If you don’t have access to the dvd or you really do not feel that you are ready for the workout, I do not want you to be excluded here…I want this to be a team effort – 30 days of moving together – doing something that will challenge us all no matter what level we are starting from.

So, if this is you:

  • Do NOT feel bad, intimidated, shy etc…I’m gonna hi-five you below and we’re gonna get some stuff done here!
  • Please leave a comment below telling us what it is that you are going to commit to for those same 30 days – I’d LOVE to keep this about exercise for this challenge BUT you know where you’re at – push yourself but make it doable – walking, biking, swimming…20 min, 30 min, 45 min – that’s up to you – I think the important thing is that you are making a commitment to yourself. (and big bad meanie me – kidding) πŸ˜‰
  • Be sure to sign up and say hello at the Facebook Page (we’ll be having some good discussion there as well)
  • Mark your calendar (Oct. 21)

I’m SO proud of YOU!

We’re getting ready to make some change happen and I really want YOU to be a part of it!
