Wow! What a great few weeks it’s been! I set out for Ireland Sept. 10 and my return was to be Sept. 23.
My friend and I were having such a fantastic time on our travels that I decided to extend my trip to Oct. 3 (with a night in Altanta, bringing me home Oct. 4).
I had a wonderful time on my travels. (I plan to make another post with some pics) My friend lives in Dublin and we drove from there down to Waterford County (for some salmon fishing!), on to Kerry County (which was amazing!) ending our trip in Galway County in a fantasic little town by the sea.
The whole trip was beautiful – we completely lucked out with perfect weather for most of our travels! I am so fortunate as well that I am able to work while away – we found great places with Internet access and just made a point to do our work each day. Heck, I spent a few days mostly working, BUT hey – how cool that I can do that in Ireland!!!
I did NOT count calories while away and pretty much ate (and drank – yeah Guinness!) what I wanted, consciously deciding that I am on vacation and want to enjoy all the great food. (knowing I may have some regret upon return, BUT will just have to get back to it!)
Final tally….Upon return, my weight was 171.4 at the highest. Whew!
After the roadtrip, I had gotten it down to 158 before heading to Ireland, so I am up from that weight 13.4 lbs. I do think a lot of this (or some) will come off fairly quickly once I settle into calorie counting, drinking my water, exercise, etc. I do recognize that I’ve gotten a bit off track and need to now look at where I can expect to be by the end of the year. (I have revised my yearly goal as well)
I’m aiming to get back to my low which was 155 and if I can hit 150 by end of the year, I’ll be happy!!! 🙂
