20th High School Reunion

On Saturday, I attended my 20th High School Reunion! It was great to connect with old friends that  I hadn’t seen in 20 years.

I cannot tell you how happy I was to be feeling good about where I was physically. Most of my friends would have had no idea how heavy I had been in the last few years. I did not leave this info out when people complimented me on how I looked. 😉 That’s not what this is about, right?

It was wonderful to be back "home". This is the small town (200 people) that I grew up in right on the Mississippi River in Wisconsin. Every time I go back these days (which isn’t often), its seems more beautiful to me. When I was younger it was WAY too small and I couldn’t wait to move away.  lol

It was a great visit and I got to see most of my cousins and my grandmother who is in a nursing home there.

I don’t think I would have had the courage or desire to attend this reunion had I not lost so much weight. It’s interesting because I didn’t really think about a reunion (I have not attended any previous to this one)  when I started my weight loss journey, but I sure was happy to think about going once the invite came out.

Do you have anything similar coming up that you are trying to get in shape for? I know it’s a common goal for many people.
Keep at it! 🙂

Congratulations on your journey…What an inspiration to others who do not believe it is possible. Wish I could have been at the reunion, but I was in Ireland.

Ireland? I am here now! 😉 I’m going to send you a note on FaceBook.
