Day 7 Shred Challenge: Video Message from Paula

shred-day07

Yay Team! We’ve made it through our first full week of the 30 Day Shred. I’m assuming that it is getting at least a bit easier for you all as it is for me. Keep going! WooHoo!

By the way, I’m creating these videos with the Flip Camcorder – a really simple way to upload videos to YouTube and Facebook. You can also easily send via email cards to someone. Very fun! A must have if you are doing video by yourself (of yourself) is this cute little Flip Tripod

  1. Hey Paula! Thanks for your comment on my BTL post committing to 30DS. I appreciate you pointing me to the group out here. Today will be day 3 for me. Here we go!

  2. Yay Shannon…so happy to have you with us! Just jump right in girl! πŸ™‚

  3. Welcome Shannon!

I don’t know if you guys know but the week before we started this I had the flu and even though I haven’t felt 100% I have felt better until…

Last night, I had a tickle in my throat. This morning I am coughing, feel a heaviness on my chest, cold, but hot – I think I am now getting a chest cold. I never get sick and haven’t been sick since 1993 but this crap is just holding on.

I shredded this morning but I wasn’t giving it 100% – but I did it, I completed Day 7 – one full week. Now, if I could just get my darn nutrition under control for the next 23 days I may just lose some weight! BAH HA

  4. Nice to have you on board Shannon! And Kim, I hope you feel better. Not being sick since 1993 – that’s quite a record!

Okay Paula, here’s the report: I shredded earlier this morning, moving up to Workout 2. I did the entire routine with 5 lbs weights, a bit overly ambitious on my part. Should have started with the 3 lbs. I stuck with Anita’s version for all 3 circuits and I was completely out of breath the whole darn time! So was Natalie, but then again she was doing the super crazy version. When Jillian says, “I want you to feel like you’re going to die” boy, does she mean it.

Absolutely exhausted when I finished. I’m going to have the second cup of tea before I shred tomorrow. Need all the caffeine I can get to keep up with Jillian and the girls. This version is definitely harder. Almost like starting on Day 1 with Workout 1.

Hope everyone had fun with this today! Also hope to see you all “simultweeting” tonight during The Biggest Loser.

  5. Welcome Shannon!

Kim…I know how you feel. My kids just got over the stomach flu…and I didn’t feel like shredding today…upset stomach. I decided to give it a go…and I just finished. Hope I don’t get worse.

  6. Hey Shredders! Week one and Level 1 are done for me- going to Level 2 tomorrow. You’ve got me skured, Lori!

    Here’s the blog:

    Love,
    Ali πŸ™‚

  7. Kim and Maria – sorry you are both not feeling well. πŸ™ YOU are the definition of determination for sticking with this tho! Know that girls! AND please do take care of yourselve…I will not come hunt you down (well, maybe to bring some chicken soup!) if you miss a day due to illness.

Lori and Ali – what can I say? You two are killing this challenge! Keep it up girls and thanks to all for reporting – I love the checking in with one another.

Tweet you all tonight for Biggest Loser! πŸ™‚

  8. Thanks for all the thoughtful welcoming, ladies! Just finished day three. My quads just burn and burn. Soooo excited for Biggest Loser tonight! See y’all tomorrow.

  9. Yay Shannon! Thanks for posting…are you on Twitter? If so leave your ID here so we can add you to the list. If not, jump on – it’s fun! A bunch of people will be on tonight during Biggest Loser which is fun! πŸ™‚ Glad you’re here!

  10. Kudos Kim and Maria for doing it when not feeling good! Be careful and take care of yourselves though!

I’ve been laughing over Paula’s tweets on TBL in a few minutes, because on the West Coast, we have about three hours yet to go. Just as well, I need to hit the store. Anyway, I’ve done my exercise and it went well, especially with the push-ups today. I just hope it gets a bit warmer, it was chilly out walking today!

  11. Oh no…be aware of the BL EST tweeting session! πŸ˜‰ Great job on your exercise!

  12. Day 7 is done. I did it this evening after watching The Biggest Loser. Great great episode! Anyways, I did level 1, and nailed 6 regular push-ups!!!! I managed to even get in some cardio. For now it’s time to shower and get some rest.

  13. Good work Amy! Agree about BL – watched and cried! Sleep well. πŸ™‚

  14. Paula, I am done with Day 7, did it this afternoon before Christina’s volleyball game. Still trying to master those push-ups. The cardio is getting better. Hopefully, level 2 next week. I have been craving more protein lately, looks like I may need to up my calories just a little. Lost another 1b this week. Thanks for all your encouragement.

Welcome Shannon….you will definitely enjoy shredding.
Lori & Ali….You both rock, Level 2 , way to go…I am inspired.
Kim and Maria get well soon, congratulations on shredding even though you did not feel well. I commend you both.
Amy and Cynthis congrats on those push-ups, i could barely do 6.

    Day 8 here we go!!!!!!

  15. Hey girls πŸ™‚

Reading about Kim and Maria, who were shredding although they felt sick, makes me feeling worse than I already do.
I have to admit, that I didn’t shred yesterday (Tuesday). I was back at work after my vacation and it was crazy. Too much drama jobwise and peoplewise – I didn’t even eat anything than breakfast yesterday and I simply didn’t have the energy to work out in the evening. I hit the bed at 8pm.

BUT I already shredded this morning, so that I am done and over with Day 8 no matter what happens today. And I plan to hit the gym for some cardio after work.

Reading all your posts motivates me so much… I’m so glad I joined this whole thing πŸ™‚

  16. @Veronica ~ Thanks for your encouraging post! I’m SO happy you are doing this with us…makes me miss you even more tho – wish I was there to go for a walk or something with you. πŸ˜‰ I’ve increased my calories a bit during the shred as well – yesterday I was starving!!

@Andie ~ welcome back from vacation! Trust you continued to have a wonderful time. No worries on the missed day – What I love most about you that miss a day (for whatever reason) is that you get right back at it! That’s how we win with fitness/weight loss right? Not throwing in the towel! You go Andie! AND the posts motivate me as well…keep them coming ladies! I appreciate you all! πŸ™‚

  17. Hey Veronica, don’t be too impressed with me… I’m not doing full push-ups, just my TRX stability ones. Those are harder than counter push-ups, but not as bad as the real deal. However, my feet will NOT tolerate the real deal. Too much strain on them. (I have plantar fasciitis.) One day I will be strong enough though. And I bet after this month, I’ll be able to knock out some good kneeling pushups. Or possibly try some off a stability ball.

I enjoyed TBL last night, but I sure wish they could edit a bit more and get us done in an hour.
