Day 27 down! 3 MORE DAYS and we’ve done it ladies! WooHoo! π
By the way, I’m creating these videos with the Flip Camcorder – a really simple way to upload videos to YouTube and Facebook. You can also easily send via email cards to someone. Very fun! A must have if you are doing video by yourself (of yourself) is this cute little Flip Tripod

I’m quitting. 3 weeks of shredding AND an extra 45 minutes-1 1/2 hrs/day of cardio AND watching what I eat, and I have not lost even 1/4″, and only 1/4 lb. This has been the problem for the last several years now–no matter how much I exercise and watch what I eat, I don’t lose. Trainers and other fitness people can’t seem to figure out why. Doctors just says it’s my meds–even though I’ve quit one and changed the other 3 times for less side effect. All I know is that I can kill myself working out and eating right and not lose anything, or eat whatever I please and not lose anything. I’m tired of getting up early, trying to squeeze extra activities into my day, and figuring out how to feed myself and my family with the same meals and still keep all of them happy and full with nothing to show for it except being tired. Time to work with the body I have.
Susan, hang in there. Please take the following with a grain of salt as I’m not a medical or fitness professional. But what you’re describing above sounds a lot like overtraining and may also be indicative of an out-of-balance metabolism. Two immediate suggestions: have your hormone levels tested by an endocrinologist and pick up a copy of “Master Your Metabolism” by Jillian Michaels. I seem to be talking about this book endlessly, but it really opened my eyes as to why the numbers weren’t moving on the scale. A big thing I learned – I wasn’t sleeping enough!!! I also had hormonal imbalances that I wasn’t aware of caused primarily by things I was eating.
Day 27 shred, shred, shredded! Starting to get a little anxious about tripling up on Day 30. :0)
I am inspired. I’ve got the shred and wished I knew you were doing this! I have been doing some form of daily exercise since June, and am ready to kick it up a bit. I think the shred will do it. Do you plan on doing it again any time soon?
I am new to your blog and know that I will be back! Have a good week!
Susan, I don’t want to pretend to know how you are feeling and I’m very sorry for your frustration. I do 100% agree with accepting your body and where you are at. I guess the most encouraging thing that I can say is that there are benefits to the exercise/healthy eating that do not include weight loss, but you already know that. Lori’s suggestion sounds like it may be something for you to check out if you are interested. Just know that I’m here for you if you need a sounding board or encouragement – I’m sure the whole gang would agree.
Lori, what to say – you just rock girl! π Day 30 is anxiously awaiting you and your determination!!
Welcome Kat! π A couple things…feel free to jump in following each of the daily blog posts if you want to do your own 30 day shred – I’ll definitely cheer you on!
Another idea…we have a new challenge happening Nov. 25:
http://tinyurl.com/cwl-holiday-challenge
It will be more of a personal challenge and I see no reason why your commitment couldn’t be the shred – you will have lots of support from those of us that are just finishing! π
Item #3 – In the midst of launching a forum community this week. We will definitely be holding more exercise challenges down the road – stay tuned for that! π
Thanks for commenting and send me a tweet if your are on Twitter – would love to say hi!
SUSAN! Don’t give up! When I was in college, I went through a similar situation. I honestly thought my body was supposed to be heavy. Changing seemed too hard, and I never would stick with it long enough to ever see any real results. I was always so frustrated. It wasn’t until my sister passed away from kidney failure that I realized that I needed to take care of my body, regardless of what the scale said or how my clothes fit. I didn’t want to be sick, too.
I know that if you are doing all the things you say you are that eventually you will see the change. Surely you can FEEL the change of just being healthy. And even though thirty days may feel like a long time, I have read repeatedly that it takes at least three months to really get into the groove and see some lasting changes.
We are a tight little group and want to see you succeed! Please push through- we’ll be here every step of the way!
Gang- here’s the deal: http://fosterfitness.blogspot.com/
Have my 27 day blog and a nifty DietTribe review. If you aren’t watching this show, you should be!!!
Love,

Okay, so I did 30 mins on the tredmill, level 2 of The Shred, and then 30 mins of riding my bike on the trainer. Stick a fork in me.
LOL Go Amy! Workout queen for the day! π
