Day 2 Shred Challenge: Video Message from Paula

shred-day02

Day 2 of the 30 Day Shred Challenge, found me with some sore muscles…but persevered! Hope you did too – I know you can do it!

By the way, I’m creating these videos with the Flip Camcorder – a really simple way to upload videos to YouTube and Facebook. You can also easily send via email cards to someone. Very fun! A must have if you are doing video by yourself (of yourself) is this cute little Flip Tripod

  1. I’m pretty sure that instead of refreshing my feed reader and finding new posts, I should be going to bed, LOL! Anyway, I did put up a post with my day 1 walking route map on it.

  2. DONE! πŸ˜‰ I’m off to the gym to do some cardio. πŸ™‚

  3. Cynthia – hope you got some sleep girl. πŸ˜‰

Mette – you are rocking it! Good going…were you sore today from the Shred? I’m a bit – of course gonna push through it to do Day 2 in just a while. Hope your cardio was great…keep it up workout queen!

  4. Just finished and boy do I need a shower! I was focusing more on breathing today as well. I still don’t like the push ups, I know in time I will get better! Way to go everyone!!

  5. Yay Maria! Push-ups! I know! Today I HAD to do modified for sure! I think we’ll get stronger! Keep up the great work and thanks for checking in. πŸ™‚

  6. OMG, LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos! I think the videos are motivation enough! My arms flippin’ hurt today, I am sore – BURN BABY BURN. I gained stinkin’ 5 lbs. this week I need to burn something.

Thanks for the motivation, shout outs and by the way your hair is FOXY!

  7. LOL thanks Kim! I’ve been debating about doing them and decided it was a good way to be able to connect with you all so for now, we’ll see how that goes! πŸ˜‰
(and the hair? sweat and all? Thanks! πŸ˜‰ )

Good work – the 5 lbs is probably water – do you think? Keep going girl…you are doing great!

  8. Sore, sore, SORE! Hamstrings are just killing me today. But the good news – made it through all of 1st set of pushups and did first 6 on second set before I had to switch to modified version. Paula, I think you’re absolutely right about proper breathing on the cardio. Yesterday, I caught myself holding my breath through the punching section – why, I have no idea! Today, really tried to time it with my left punches. Definitely made a difference. Also noticed that I need to add an extra 75-100 calories to my breakfast pre-workout or I am exhausted. Anyone else experiencing this? I usually eat about 1600 calories each day. 30-day shredders, we’re onto day 3!

  9. Hey Hey Lori…wow! good work on those push-ups girlie! Also focusing on breathing seems to make it go faster don’t you think? πŸ˜‰ If I can just keep breathing…. lol I’m definitely hungry NOW (lunch time)! I’ve been trying to do 1500 calories these days, but I’m thinking of bumping that up a bit as well. Hey we’ve got to be burning some good calories with this bad boy! Yay! to day 3 indeed! Thanks for posting Lori…keep up the great work!

  10. I’m actually not sore at all today, but I changed my dumbbells from 3 to 5 lbs, so I might be feeling it tomorrow though πŸ˜‰
Lori: I made it through the first set too! yay πŸ˜€
Paula: You look great, and I agree with Kim.. You motivate me. πŸ˜‰

I’m so excited to do this challenge with all of you. I now have workout buddies… even though they live about 4200 miles away. πŸ˜‰

  11. Paula, you’re so freakin cute! I love the videos…no pressure though. Lol. Okay, so day two is in the books. Oh mercy I was SO sore! I decided to kind of push just to see what I could really do, and I did all of the advanced moves except for the push ups. Don’t get me wrong, it was nothing close to easy. I have a ways to go. Now I’m drinking my water and going on with the day. Wooohoooo!

Oh, a quick tip that I learned: doing a nice easy yoga session in the evening helps loosen things up and ease soreness. I do just a short little dvd and it’s like a nice little treat.

    Have a great day everyone!

  12. Howdy! Paula, your roots look great! πŸ™‚ Day 2 was great- here is my log-
    http://fosterfitness.blogspot.com/2009/10/30-day-shred-challenge-day-2.html

My butt is sore- suprisingly my shoulders are not. I did more pushups on my toes!!! 15 for the first, and 5 for the second before my body starting yelling at me.

My companion workout was a KILLER- The Biggest Winner Shape-up Front kicked my butt. πŸ™‚

Yay Day 2! Onto Day 3!!!

  13. @Mette ~ Good goin on the dumbbell increase – you are strong woman, hear you roar! Thanks for the nice comment (you all motivate me too!) AND I love that we are workout buddies – I do love to travel, ya know. lol Remind me where you are…is it Germany?

@Amy ~ Thanks re: the video – making my day! (was having some 2nd thoughts about doing the vids all sweaty and everything – I’ll do some cleaned up ones also – promise!) πŸ˜‰

I’m SO proud of you for pushing! Isn’t it really amazing when we DO things that we really didn’t think we could do? How silly are we sometimes?! Speaking to myself here too!

Great tip on the Yoga! Thanks for that. Keep up the great work!

@Alison ~ LOL Thanks for noticing my new roots! πŸ˜‰ (why I was a little hesitant about doing Day 1 video pre-hair apt)

Cool that you are blogging a log as well…love it!

Girl, you are a powerhouse! I can tell! You’re inspiring me – keep it up please!

Thanks to you all for posting – it means a lot to me! Until tomorrow…

  14. I’m in Norway πŸ™‚

  15. ahhh Norway! Very cool!

  16. Did Day 2 actually day 1 for me.

I love the workout. Only one challenged occurred, during the cardio butt kicks, if you have bad knees and I have been teaching aerobics since the late 80’s and am in my mid 50’s, be sure to follow the lady in the video doing moderation. You want to make sure to be careful of any injuries.

I am guessing, after reading the comments, I will be sore tomorrow. I have a tip for myself and hopefully it encourages others. “Don’t Ever Give Up”, take this workout one day at a time and then it will fun to do.

I love Jillian, she is motivating like you Paula! Tomorrow, I am off to the gym in the morning and Day 3 in the early afternoon. Go Day 3!!!!

  17. Thanks for posting Veronica – You know you are really an inspiration to me! πŸ™‚ Thanks for the great tips – I think people will definitely benefit. I also really like Jillian’s workouts – I had been doing the No More Trouble Zones which is great as well. Keep up the good work and will look forward to hearing from you tomorrow!

  18. My abs are sore!!

  19. Maria, I take it you made it through Day 2? πŸ˜‰ It will get better I think…my arms and chest are sore…ahhhh! We can do it! Thanks for posting.

  20. Argh! It’s 10:45 and I haven’t done it yet! πŸ™ I’m GOING to though… I made a video response to Paula’s… not sure how many of you are on YouTube, but I decided I didn’t really want the world to see my update, so I made a private link.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch_private?v=ceNJTNUy3s4&sharing_token=rrThDeIqaV3OmbtV92G49A==

The part of me that was most sore today was my pectoral muscles and in between my shoulder blades, if you can believe it. The inside of my thighs were a bit sore too, but not as bad as my arms. I kept stretching today though…my students probably thought I was really weird! (Or they didn’t care or notice.) πŸ™‚

  21. Rachel! Girl you totally made my day early this AM with your video! I LOVE that you did that! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for posting and you are a rockstar for sure to go home last night and shred…I will look forward to an update from you later. Have a great day and I’m so proud of you for pushing through. Keep up the great work!

  22. Rachel you rock! I love the video. I love that you’re a middle school English teacher (whew, that’s a tough age group). Hang in there!!! YOU can do this. WE can do this….TOGETHER! Come on, we’re worth 20 minutes. Right? You are amazing.

  23. I got my walk in yesterday, went well, but when I headed out the door to the dentist, my right knee was being cranky. It still is, so it may be just a good warm up, then push-ups today. I couldn’t go hill walking if I wanted, it’s raining out.

Just feeling blah today. Dental appointment was for a temp crown and lasted two hours. I didn’t sleep well last night either. My face is still sore and the tooth a bit tender.

  24. Hope you feel better soon Cynthia…thanks for checking in. πŸ˜‰

  25. Going back to watch the videos on the day that I am on. Day 2 is done. Sore as heck all mighty, but it’s done. Hoping to find my strength and endurance growing. Need to push through a little more in the tough moments so that I can really build my endurance. Whew!

  26. Great job Christy! Yes, push yourself. It will get easier! Keep posting so we can track with you! πŸ˜‰
