Day 16 Shred Challenge: Video Message from Paula

shred-day16

We are officially into the second half of the 30 Day Challenge team! Awesome!!! We are unstoppable! Pat yourselves on the back AND keep going! πŸ˜‰

By the way, I’m creating these videos with the Flip Camcorder – a really simple way to upload videos to YouTube and Facebook. You can also easily send via email cards to someone. Very fun! A must have if you are doing video by yourself (of yourself) is this cute little Flip Tripod

Also did my recap of BL- check it out! And Lori and Paula’s, too!

  2. Hi Paula,

I was just thinking the same thing, when I saw your video. I actually did day 16 this morning and I was able to complete the push-ups which were my hardest. I might take a look at level 2 and see if it is time to move up. I could change up the weights, but than I would have to buy 51b wts… But, Day 17 here we go…Thanks for all your support and encouragement….

  3. Off topic I know, but Paula…do you have a hair and makeup artist standing by, courtesy of Flip? You look GREAT! :0) And congrats on upping the weights. No easy feat.

As my Italian nonna says, “Mezzo-mezzo” or so, so on my Day 16. I whacked my left knee on my desk this morning. Hard. Immediate bruise and a nice little lump over the kneecap. I did Level 2 but after starting the second cardio circuit (twisty mogul type jumps, ski hops), my knee just started searing. Didn’t want to stop entirely, but also didn’t want to risk hurting myself worse. I ended up repeating the cardio from the first circuit twice and also eliminated the double jump rope from the third circuit. I’m going to ice tonight and modify as necessary for Day 17.

    Talk tomorrow!

  4. Alison, what can I say? You ARE my hero! Way to go level 3 baby! πŸ™‚

Veronica, great job on the push-ups – you are definitely rockin this challenge!

Lori, you can go off topic to talk about my hair any day! LOL πŸ˜‰ Thanks SO much for that actually – made my day! You all know I’m pretty low maintenance, right? Just so happens that I have a lot of running around this week which requires showering/getting dressed! (kidding – kind of) So, thus the post shower vids this week! hehe

Yikes on that knee Lori – ice up and I am praying for a quick recovery! We need you girl! Do take card of it – don’t want you hurt which is the most important thing!

  5. O.M.G. I tried something new this evening. A Zumba class. It was kind of fun, until my feet started to hurt. An hour of this is way too long for me. At any rate, I feel zombified right now and everything is OW! Including my back and arms. I’m pretty sure I burned good calories.

I’m not sure what I’ll be capable of tomorrow with the way I feel right now. I’ll just have to take it as it goes.

  6. Hey there,

I completed Day16 after 6 hours lifting, unpacking and more lifting of tons of new catalogs in my office. Does that count for more than one day??? ;-P

Cynthia, Alison, Veronica – you girls rock!

Lori – hope your knee gets better soon!

Paula – Your lil vids always make my day. I’m totally with you that 1-2days of rest aren’t wrong πŸ™‚ Intake is a good topic too – I should definately improve that (but I’m working on it). So let us know what you are thinking about!

    Andie

  7. Good job Cynthia on burning those calories! I’ve not tried Zumba myself but I’ve heard about it. Hope you are not too sore today.

Thanks for checking in Andie (and the sweet comment) – 6 hrs of lifting?! Yes, I would say that this counts for SOMETHING! πŸ˜‰ You’re awesome!

  8. I’m mobile in a creaky sort of way… so it’s not too bad. I’m thinking water walking rather than hill walking at present. Hard to get to sleep last night!

Andie, that’s great that you were able to do it after a day of lifting like you had!

Boy, I feel SO out of shape after last night. It was too fast, and I don’t think I have much Latin rhythm, LOL! I don’t know what the instructor thought, because I was never doing the same thing at the same time as anyone else. I did ask if it would be OK to take the class and leave early before the hurt sets in, and he said sure. So the plan is to try again next week.

Considering it was like my first aerobics class on dry land in nearly 20 years, I suppose it didn’t go too badly.
