2008 Q4 GOALS: Oct 1-Dec 31, 2008

Starting Weight: Jan. 1, 2008 – 193 lbs

Q4 Weight Goal: 150 (20 lb loss) (this is revised from original 2008 goals)

Q4 Fitness Goals:

  • Cardio 5 times/wk (min. 40 min) – walking, biking
  • Strength training – 3 times/wk – upper and lower body
  • Pilates 3 times/wk (beginner dvd)
  • Abs 5 times/wk

Q4 Food/Nutrition Goals:

  • Calories = continue with calorie cycling, and lowering if/when needed
  • Try to get back on track after Aug/Sept travel/weight gain!
  • 16 glasses water daily
  • Multivitamin daily

Month 22 Goals: October 08

Weight Loss and Fitness Goals:

Starting Weight: Jan. 1, 2007 – 278 lbs
Starting Weight: Jan. 1, 2008  – 193 lbs
Starting Weight  Oct. 1, 2008 – 170 lbs (approximately as I didn’t weigh in on 10/1)
YR 2 Q4 Weight Goal: 150 (20 lb loss) (revised from original 2008 goals)
Weight loss goal for month: 10 lbs (160)
Weight loss goal per week: 3.3 lbs (suspect some is sodium/water and will come off quickly)

October Exercise Goals:

  • Cardio/walking or biking 5 times/wk  (probably more walking than biking as weather gets cooler)
  • Strength Training 3 times/wk – upper body
  • Strength Training 3 times/wk – lower body
  • Abs 5 times/wk (8 Minute Abs Dvd)
  • Pilates 3 times/wk – (video)

October Food/Nutrition Goals:

  • Get back on track with calorie counting (cycling and low days/wks)

I did experience weight gain after my travels the past month. I’m not beating myself up over this. I think the key will be how quickly can I get back on track and get the additional weight off. I need to learn to balance this and learn from it. πŸ˜‰

I Have a Car!

Well I’m back in NC after a great few weeks in the midwest! I attended my 20th High School Reunion in Wisconsin, and then spent time in Michigan with my parents and sister. Whew! We went camping in my parent’s new motor home and did a lot of bike riding which was great! (my parents just got bikes!) I also helped sis with a HUGE garage sale as she is planning a big career move which may include the selling of her house.

My sister got a new car and gave me a great deal on her old car. (she also suprised me with a $500 "rebate" to use towards clothes – rewarding me for my weight loss – how awesome is she?! Thanks M!)

We then did a fantastic road trip back here together. We had decided to make a mini vacation out of it and had a blast! Our stops inlcuded Champaigne, IL (spent the night with brother and sister-in-law), St. Louis, (did a bit of gambling here which was fun!) Nashville and a final stop in Asheville, NC.

So where does this time away leave me with my weight loss efforts?

Before I left, my lowest was 155.4 (woohoo!). My highest since I’ve been back is 169.2 – whew! That’s 13.8 up! I’m pretty confident that getting back to it will bring the weight off quickly as I think much of it will be sodium/water weight. (well some of it anyways)

I didn’t really use a lot of discipline while away…especially while we were travelling. BUT I did get some biking in which was good. I’m trying not to beat myself up too much, BUT I have a trip to Ireland coming up this month on the 10th and I SO wanted to be at a low weight when I left – I’d just bought my size 8 Levi’s and I want to be wearing them! πŸ˜‰

So now I’m really working to hit it hard and get this weight off before taking off again!!  Wish me luck!

Weight loss goal for month: to get my weight down a bit before I leave for Ireland! (9/10)
Weight loss goal per week: to not go too crazy while away! πŸ˜‰

September Exercise Goals:

  • Cardio/walking or biking 5 times/wk – biking goal is 80-100 miles/wk – continue to push hard!
  • Strength Training 3 times/wk – upper body (new routine includes 11 exercises at home with dumbells and balance ball – 2 sets of each)
  • Lower body work 3 times/wk (new routine includes 9 exercises at home – 2 sets of each)
  • Abs 5 times/wk (8 Minute Abs Dvd)
  • Pilates 3 times/wk – (video)
  • all above while at home which won’t be too much this month

September Food/Nutrition Goals:

  • Will be traveling a lot this month – try not remain conscious of what I am eating

September includes travel plans: Sept 10-23 (Ireland!) – ended up extending this to Oct. 4
I plan to work hard before I go and exerice/eat healthy while I’m gone but not be too terribly strict – work to maintain or not to gain. (much) πŸ˜‰
